Geneva History Center Rents Top Floor, Makes Building Improvements

Lots of positive changes to the GHC building including a new tenant, removal of paint, chimney demo and new parking lot.

The Geneva History Center is proud to announce many changes to our building both inside and out!

Our entire second floor has been rented to Embassy Group Ltd., a plumbing co-op with two full-time employees and no walk-in traffic.  The second floor once was the home of GHC administrative offices, classroom and storage but we have been able to reorganize and make some changes to continue to provide school field trips and programming in our Bencini Room.  The timeline that once graced the walls of the classroom has been repurposed on foam board that accordion folds to become a mobile teaching tool.

The paint has been removed from our brick exterior and our cracked chimney was demolished.  GHC was fortunate to receive a grant from the Kane County Riverboat Fund to remove a chimney that was cracked and remove chipping and peeling paint from our exterior brick.  The building has been returned to its original splendor by G. Porter Masons.

The City of Geneva is creating a public parking lot at the rear of our building which will create more parking and beautify our backyard.

It has been a crazy few months here at GHC on Third but with such terrific results.  Stop by and see for yourself and Belong to Geneva's story.
