Deadline Approaching to Enter Community Photo Contest

Geneva History Center Community Photo Contest deadline is next Friday, June 1.

Next Friday, June 1, is the deadline to enter the 2nd Annual Community Photo Contest at the Geneva History Center. This competition aims to capture unique images of the community and essence of life in Geneva to help preserve images of Geneva for future generations. A jury comprised of professional photographers will select a total of 25 photographs for display in the Geneva History Center Museum lobby from June 14 through Nov.1, 2012. Cash prizes include: First place $150, second place $100, third place $50. Sponsored in part by the Geneva Cultural Arts Commission and Fox Valley Sudden Values.

Eligibility

Open to everyone. Residents/non-residents are welcome to submit photos. There is no age limit.

Entry Fee

$10 per entry. Maximum of 2 entries per person.

Format for Submitting Prints

• 8 x 10 print mounted on 11 x 14 matte board
• Color or Black & White
• The rear of each mounted photograph must be clearly labeled with the photo title/caption, photographer’s name, address, contact phone number, e-mail address and a short, typed caption (150 words or less) describing the image and its connection to something unique about Geneva.
• Entrants must provide a digital copy of photo submitted. Submissions in one format without the other will be disqualified. Digital images should be placed on a CD/DVD and formatted as 300dpi 8 x 10 or in the range of 1.5 meg. to 3 meg. large. Multiple photos from one photographer may be placed on one CD/DVD.
• All submissions must be entered with a signed copy of the entry form.

It's that easy! So get out this Memorial Day weekend, take some photos and bring them to the History Center anytime 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday thru Saturday.
