Animation Program by Tribeca Flashpoint Academy

Learn about today's animation from the pros.

On Monday, February 18, Tribeca Flashpoint Academy, a Chicago school specializing in teaching digital media artists how to create stunning animations, will demonstrate the tools and techniques used by animators today and how those tools relate to the long history of animation starting in the 1930's.

Computer animation techniques not only drive the smooth and detailed look of cartoon animations from "Brave" to the "Madagascar" movies, they are also used to create the creatures that interact with live action actors in films like "Avatar" and "The Lord of The Rings."

The Geneva History Center will host two programs on Monday, February 18 at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.   Young adults (ages 13-18) are invited to attend the 1:30 program and receive a coupon for a free Happy Meal at participating McDonald's--admission $5.   The 6:30 program is open to everyone--Adults $10; GHC Members and students $5.   Both programs will take place at the Geneva History Center, 113 South Third Street, Geneva, IL.
