Relay for Life Draws 1,000 Cancer Survivors to Fifth Third Bank Ballpark

This year's Kane County Relay for Life brought together cancer survivors and friends for an all-night celebration of life that started Friday night and finished on Saturday.

More than 1,000 cancer survivors, caregivers and friends attended the annual Kane County Relay for Life event on June 22-23 at Fifth Third Bank ballpark in Geneva.

Geneva resident Doogie Mayberry was honorary chair. In addition to Kane County, walks were held in Kendall and DeKalb counties overnight Friday and early Saturday to benefit the American Cancer Society and .

A ceremonial check for $40,101.16 was presented by the St. Charles North and East high school drill teams.

The goal of the event was $315,000.
