Flags at Geneva City Hall Get Into Spirit of Olympic Games

As the opening ceremonies begin for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the city of Geneva gets into the fun by adding a flag at City Hall.

You've got the American flag, always on top and in the middle. And the state of Illinois flag, and generally, the city of Geneva flag flanking either side.

But for awhile, anyway, the city will be flying some additional colors, in honor of the 2012 Olympic Games, which began with opening ceremonies Friday, July 27.

Da Mayor, Kevin Burns, was kind enough to e-mail the photo you see here.

"Geneva is proud to share in the Olympic dreams of American athletes," he said. "By flying proudly the USA Olympic Flag, we hope our athletes in London know that the citizens of Geneva are cheering them on!"
