Geneva High School Athletic Director Jim Kafer said he's ready, too.

Kafer said the track probably would be installed by the first week of August, and the rubberized material needs a couple weeks to set. Then add the lines, and ta-da, it's good to go.

At Monday's School Board meeting, School District 304 Superintendent Kent Mutchler made a similar report. He said two lanes of the track were still to be done, but favorable weather conditions had allowed for the completion on or ahead of schedule. Mutchler added that the installation new seats and repair work to the were under way and also should be completed by the start of the school year.
