Wicinski Leads Huskies to Win, 12-1 Record
A power outage can't stop Lauren Wicinski of Geneva from leading the NIU Huskies to victory over Youngstown State on Saturday, upping the volleyball team's season record to 12-1.
Not even a power outage could stop freshman outside hitter Lauren Wicinski of Geneva from leadomg the Northern Illinois University Huskies to a volleyball victory Saturday at NIU Student Recreation Center.
NIU soundly went about its business by sweeping Youngstown State, 25-21, 25-15, 25-18, in 1 hour and six minutes—about an hour less than it took to get the match started.
Seven minutes prior to the first serve, parts of DeKalb suffered a power outage and "The Dog House" went completely black. Officials deemed the light insufficient enough for a safe match and arrangements were then made to relocate the event to the rec center.
