Viking Sophomores Suffer First Loss

Close contest decided in the fourth quarter, but St. Charles East pulls away with two touchdowns in the second half for the come-from-behind win.

Final score: Saints 13, Vikings 7

Geneva scoring : Geneva's first score came with 44 seconds left in the half. Andy Honiotes hit Lucas Petras for the 30-yard touchdown.

Teams/records: Vikings 2-1 (0-1), Saints 1-2 (1-0)

The Hero:  Lucas Petras caught Geneva's only touchdown. Saints' running back Anthony Sciarrino punched in the go-ahead TD and some key first downs to seal the game.

The Turning Point: With the game tied at 7, Saints force a Viking fumble and recover on the Geneva 20 with 9:06 left in fourth.

The Quote: "We had some adversity during the game, which we didn't respond very well to," coach Reed Allison said. "We have to step up when guys go out (with injuries), and we didn't do that."

The Bottom Line: Saints Anthony Sciarrino put the game on his back and carried it in for St. Charles' East's Upstate Eight victory.
