Viking Cross Country Team Completes Sunday on Chicago Marathon Course
Boys and girls teams board a bus at 5 a.m. for Chicago to compete in 2.6-mile Northside-Southside Challenge.
Geneva High School cross country runners will be on the streets of Chicago racing 2.62 miles on the race-day course of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
Each team's experience includes a Nike Elite Athlete captain who provides inspiration and motivation before the race, throughout race weekend.
This year, 24 schools are competing in the IHSA-sponsored race. Geneva was originally slated for the southside team but will compete for the northsiders.

The starting line is at Michigan Avenue at 28th Street, and the finish line is at Columbus Drive and 11th Street, the finish line for the Chicago Marathon.
Geneva's girls team is made up of Brooke Nusser, Kathryn Adelman, Kylie Monahan, Mackenzie Williams, Kristi Shogren, Courtney Reynolds, Marin Leone and Sydney Geils (alternate).

The boys team includes Michael Bianchina, Dan Herrera, Ryan Rasmussen, Connor Bartel, Peter Archibald, Jordan Midgley, Blake Peik, Nate Wendt (alternate).
The boys race starts at 7:40 a.m., the girls at 7:45 a.m.
Spectators are strongly encouraged.
