Sophs Now 2-For-2 Against Rock Island
The Geneva sophomore football team starts the season at 1-0, beating Rock Island for the second straight year, this time by a score of 24-6.
Geneva’s sophomore football team got the season off to a good start Friday night at Burgess Field.
The Vikings pulled away with 6:49 in the third quarter, when quarterback Dan Santacaterina hit Pace Temple on a 79-yard touchdown pass to take an 18-6 lead.
Geneva’s defense held the Rocks scoreless in the second half and added a 5-yard touchdown run by Joey Seybold with 5:01 left in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
