Scaccia Sets Single-Season Rushing, TD Records; Bulldogs Ready for Lake Forest
Game time is 1 p.m. Saturday at Batavia High School.
The Batavia Bulldogs football team has all of its focus set on the task at hand: defeating the Lake Forest Scouts at 1 p.m. Saturday at Batavia High School in the state Class 6A quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, it's worth noting that this team already is one of the best in Batavia football history.
One of the reasons is Anthony Scaccia.
At 5-8, 160 pounds, he's not the biggest Bulldog in the pack, but he's one of the most potent. His 27 touchdowns this year is a single-season Bulldog record, as is his impressive 1,405 yards in 173 carries — an 8.1 yards-per-carry average.
The Bulldogs are within 25 points of the team single-season scoring record, and their present 45.7 points per game average is the best in team history, as well.
Gates will open at noon for Saturday's game. All tickets are $6; no passes will be honored for playoff games.
