POST GAME: Geneva Coach Rob Wicinski at St. Charles East

Geneva muddles and gambles, then gets back to business—the running business, that is—in 35-17 win over St. Charles East.

There are so many great quotes in this brief post-game interview with Geneva head coach Rob Wicinski. (This takes place, of course, at Norris Field after Geneva's 35-17 come-from-behind win against St. Charles East.)

But among all the sound bites, the part I might like the best is that little sigh when Wicinski is talking about his gambling quarterback, Matt Williams. Just for context, Williams is also the punter and gets to decide whether to punt, pass or run on fourth down. Williams late in the first half, and that allowed East to kick a field goal to take the lead 17-14.

In one little puff of air from the cheeks, you see what a coach goes through with a risk-taking QB—but it's also clear, I think, that Rob loves it, too.

There's a nice quote in here about Parker Woodworth's place in the stratum of great Geneva runningbacks.

And a nice nod to Bobby Hess, whose 63-yard run broke the game open in the comeback win.

Written between the lines throughout the interview is quality play of the offensive line. There are quite a few all-conference selections among this group, I suspect.
