NIU 13-0; Should Lynch Get the Heisman Invite?

Should NIU's quarterback be in the running for the Heisman? Let us know what you think.

Let's face facts.

[ESPN.com] Northern Illinois University quarterback Jordan Lynch has 1,755 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns this season, numbers that are very comparable to the numbers put up by the past five Heisman-winning RUNNING BACKS. And Lynch still has the MAC Championship Game and a bowl game left to play.

[sportsgrid.com] The Huskies finished their regular season (still have the a conference championship and bowl game) with a perfect record for the first time in school history, AAAAND Lynch ended up 245 yards shy of the illustrious 2,000 mark (something no QB has ever done). Of course, he’s the only one to ever get this close (1,815 in 2012). Put that record on your résumé, Jordan. He also holds the record for most YPG (129.6), consecutive 100-yard games (12), and rushing records held by a quarterback who no one is talking about.

[sun-times.comIn NIU’s last five games, (Lynch) has rushed for 13 touchdowns and passed for eight more, with only one interception. He has rushed for 818 yards (163.6 a game). During that span, he has completed 89 of 117 passes (76 percent) for 1,085 yards (217 a game).
