GHS Softball Team Goes Down But Stays Ranked
Varsity softball loses to No. 2 St. Charles North but stays in the top 20.
Geneva High School varsity softball had a relatively quiet end to the week, playing one game Friday against St. Charles North but losing 6-2.
Things got off to a good start for the Vikings with a pair of first-inning tallies off North Stars ace Amanda Ciran. From there, St. Charles proved why they’re the class of the Upstate Eight Conference, shutting down Geneva’s offense for the rest of the game. When all was said and done, Geneva had just two hits total.
Despite the loss, GHS varsity softball appeared at No. 20 in the Daily Herald’s latest Top 20 poll, released on Sunday. St. Charles North sits at No. 2.
