Geneva Dance Team Finishes First at State

Congrats to the Geneva High School varsity girls dance team!

The Geneva High School dance team finished in first place after competing Saturday in the Class 2A state finals at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, according to the Illinois High School Association website. 

There were 90 total teams that competed in the prelims at the state meet in the Class 1A, 2A and 3A divisions from across Illinois on Friday. The top ten teams in each division, including Geneva, advanced to the final round on Saturday, according to the IHSA website.

Vernon Hills finished in second place in the class 2A competition while Fenton finished in third.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: The Geneva High School varsity dance team will compete tonight in the preliminary round of the Class 2A state final competition at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, according to the Illinois High School Association website. 

There are 90 total teams competing at the state meet in the Class 1A, 2A and 3A divisions from across Illinois. The top ten teams in each division will advance to the final round on Saturday, according to the IHSA website.

The Geneva varsity team is slated to perform at 7:17 p.m. Friday. The competitions can be viewed live throughout the day online on the IHSA TV website

Those advancing to finals Saturday in the Class 2A division will be announced at 7:45 p.m. Friday. Preliminary results will be posted by the IHSA online.
