"Brett Hassels has been playing very well in our conference matches at Mill Creek all season," Geneva coach Bill Koehn said. "He averaged 37 in home matches and earned 10.5 points towards the all conference team. As a sophomore, this was going to be a year for him to learn and develop into a leader next year as a junior. He choose to step up this year and be a leader in all of our home matches."

St. Charles East has some depth, too. The Saints were led by seventh man Brad Riva's 40. Jimmy Liss and Keone Derain each shot 41; Max Kelly and Sean Lenchner shot 42 apiece.

Geneva, St. Charles East and the rest of the UEC varsity golf teams will face off in the confernece meet, which starts at 9 a.m. Sept. 29 at St. Andrews in West Chicago.
