VIDEO UPDATE: Vikings Score at Will, Top Elgin 45-14

In the end, it was about as easy as a win can get.

When all was said and done, the second half was like Rick's writing on Geneva Patch.

All Geneva, all the time. And then it got a little sloppy.

You saw the astonishing . And that's just about all you needed to see. Although, to get the first-half action and postgame quotes, you have to read that "at the half" story and watch the video attached to this story.

To start the second half, the Vikings held on defense, forced a punt and scored in two plays—a 45-yard connection from Matt Williams to Ben Rogers, and a 17-yard run by Ben Herrera.

It was 45-6, and looking as if it might be a record-setting scoring night.

But the rest of the second half was a little more like a practice for the Vikings' second team. Ben Rogers came in at quarterback. The Vikings fumbled it away. Elgin scored on an 11-yard run by Jaylen Clemons, then added the 2-point conversion to make it 45-14.

A little later, Geneva's Luke Cartmell intercepted a Ryan Sitter pass to stop a scoring drive and was rewarded by taking over as Geneva quarterback.

A lot of Vikings had a chance to touch the ball tonight. See the stats below.

Geneva had a perfectly balanced offense, with 221 yards rushing and 221 yards passing.
