FINAL: Geneva 34, Elgin 13

A huge run by junior Parker Woodworth breaks it open in the fourth quarter, and the Vikings hold off the Maroons at Memorial Field.

A 47-yard run by junior Parker Woodworth and a big receiving night by junior Ben Rogers helped Geneva to a 34-13 win Friday over the Maroons at Memorial Field in Elgin.

"The whole passing game is coming along nicely. I see it in practice, I see them get confidence in each other. The protection's getting better. It was a good game overall," coach Rob Wicinski said.

But it wasn't the prettiest win in the world for Geneva. The Vikings turned the ball over twice in the first half, had a couple special-teams mental miscues and were penalized for a lot of yards.
