Introduction to Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar Yoga is a hatha yoga style based on the teachings of BKS Iyengar and is distinctive for its focus on alignment and precision of each posture and the use of props (chairs, straps, and blocks).

This workshop is designed to introduce the Iyengar method to the student who is ready to take their practice deeper or for the beginner to the Iyengar method. The Iyengar method is safe, challenging and progressive and will bring elasticity to the body and build stamina. It is also ideal for those who have chronic conditions like knee or back pain. The correct and disciplined practice of the asanas strengthens and purifies the physical body at all levels including the circulatory, respiratory and nervous systems. All fundamental poses will be taught and all levels are welcome.
