Fifth Third Bank and The Kane County Cougars Host Military Appreciation Night at Fifth Third Ballpark on Friday, July 6th 

Free Admission to Active Military, Veterans and Their FamiliesGates Open:  5:30 p.m. | Game Start:  6:30 p.m.

The Kane County Cougars and Fifth Third Bank are offering free admission on Friday, July 6, for “Military Appreciation” night at the ballpark to all active duty, veterans and their families.  The Kane County Cougars will take on the Quad Cities River Bandits that evening.

“As we take pause to celebrate Independence Day we wanted to also pause and pay honor to all those who serve and have served our country,” said Curtis Haug, General Manager, Kane County Cougars.

Throughout the evening, special recognition will be made for all those who have served the country.  A patriotic fireworks show will top off the festivities.  Kane County Cougar players will wear special patriotic jerseys, and representatives from each branch of service will throw out the game’s ceremonial first pitch.

Interested active duty military and veterans can enjoy free admission by showing their military ID at the box office beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 6 to enjoy free tickets for themselves and their families.  For more information or questions call 630-232-8811.


“This is a great thing to do for our vets and soldiers, many of whom can enjoy a night out with their families at no cost,” said Edward Schrank, VP, Business Development, Military Affairs, Fifth Third Bank and a wounded warrior himself.

Among those attending and involved in the evening include many veteran employees from Fifth Third Bank joined by DeVry Military Resource Club, DuPage Veterans Center, Folds of Honor Foundation, Heart of a Marine Foundation, Operation Support our Troops, and many more.
