12th annual Kids Triathlon Sunday, May 27

Delnor Health & Wellness Center will host the 12th annual Kids Triathlon Sunday, May 27, at the center, 296 Randall Road, Geneva.

The junior race will begin at 7 a.m., followed by the senior race once all the junior racers have completed the bike course, then the elites after seniors have completed the bike course.

The race is split into three divisions:

• Juniors, ages 6 to 10: 125-meter swim, two-mile bike, half-mile run.

• Seniors, ages 11 to 16: 125-meter swim, five-mile bike, one-mile run.

• Elite, maximum age 18, previous sprint distance experience required: 375-meter swim, 6.2- mile bike, 1.55-mile run. This is one of the only draft-legal races for youth athletes in the region.

Race entry fee is $45. There is a $5 discount for Delnor Health & Wellness Center members.

Race packets can be picked up from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at Delnor Health & Wellness Center. Packet pickup also will be available on race day from 5:45 to 6:30 a.m.

Bring your child’s United States of America Triathlon card to packet pickup. This is mandatory for insurance purposes. USAT registration also will be available at packet pickup if you have not registered your child yet.
