Bobby Hull Coming Sunday to Geneva Ace Hardware Grand Opening

The weekend celebration takes place April 13-15 and includes the opening of the new garden center and a visit from Blackhawks legend Bobby Hull.

Havlicek’s will be celebrating its official grand opening in a big way this weekend, culminating with a visit Sunday from Chicago Blackhawks hall-of-famer Bobby Hull.

The three-day event begins with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by the and the city of Geneva, at 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, at Geneva Ace’s 617 W. State St. location.

The festivities continue on Friday with a Fresh-Baked Cookie Sale, hosted by the Culinary Club, from noon to 5 p.m., various onsite vendors, special sale prices, and a Toro E. Cycler Cordless Mower Raffle Drawing at 6 p.m.

Saturday events begin early with “Mr. Fix-It” Lou Manfredini broadcasting his show LIVE! On WGN Radio from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Throughout the day there will be Weber Grill demonstrations, with a Weber Gas Grill Raffle Drawing at 6 p.m. There will also be special sale prices, as well as onsite vendors there all day.

Sunday’s big attraction invites the community to see Blackhawks hockey legend Bobby Hull, who will be signing autographs at the store from noon to 3 p.m. Autographs will be limited to one per person.

In addition, the Geneva High School Marching Band will be hosting a hot dog sale, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the Raffle Giveaways at 6 p.m. include a Stihl Electric Trimmer or Handheld Electric Blower and a Lodge 5 Qt. Dutch Oven. 

The weekend will also mark the official grand opening of Geneva Ace Hardware’s new Garden Center.

Store hours for the weekend are as follows:

  • 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 13
  • 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 14
  • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 15
