AT THE HALF: Vikings 13, Elgin 7

The Vikings turned the ball over twice and let Elgin score first, but they came back with two touchdowns and two big plays to lead 13-7 at the half.

Geneva went for it on fourth-and-1 on their own 47 midway through the first quarter, and it came back to bite them. They fumbled, Elgin recovered. Elgin quarterback Jake Meyer hit Dan Muenzer on a 19-yard touchdown pass and took a 7-0 lead into the second quarter.

As they have all season, the Vikings came back. The first big play, shown on the video here, was a 38-yard Connor Quinn run to the Elgin 5. Two plays later, Quinn was in the end zone. The extra-point kick hit thte uprights, and Elgin held onto a 7-6 lead until the last 20 seconds of the half.

Under pressure, Williams ran left out of the pocket, found Ben Rogers, who broke some tackles for a 32-yard touchdown. This time, the kick was good, and Geneva took a 13-7 lead into the locker room.

It's been a little sloppy, with turnovers and penalties on both sides.
