AT THE HALF: Geneva 21, Lake Zurich 21
In the first round of the IHSA Class 7A playoffs, the Vikings and Bears go toe to toe and finish tied after the first half.
The Vikings scored on the first play from scrimmage—Lake Zurich's.
Drew White recovered a Bears fumble and scored the touchdown to give Geneva a 7-0 just 24 seconds into the game.
But Lake Zurich came right back, forcing a Geneva fumble and capitalizing on a short run by quarterback Zach Till.

Geneva took the lead back on a nine-play drive. The big play of the drive was a third-and-long pass from Matt Williams to Tyler Hickey, and it was finished by a short Parker Woodworth run, to make it 14-7.
The Vikings extended the lead to 21-7, on a 10-play drive inspired by a great catch by Ben Rogers and a Williams 9-yard TD run on third down.

Geneva appeared to be in the driver's seat with the ball and a little more than two minutes to go. But the Bears called timeout twice, expecting to get the ball back—and they did. Geneva missed on third and 4, punted, and Lake Zurich ran an immaculate drive, scoring in less than 40 seconds and tying the game, 21-21 at the half.
