AT THE HALF: Geneva 21, Streamwood 0

It's not as pretty a performance as the score.

You hate to say this when your team is winning 21-0, but we kinda stunk in the first half.

Oh, not that there weren't plenty of highlights.

Parker Woodworth scampered for a 56-yard run from scrimmage. Bobby Hess came into the game, took the first handoff for 47 yards and ran three more times to score. Matt Williams made some nice completions (7-for-8, 73 yards) and scored two touchdowns.

The Viking defense played "Turnovers By Jake," scoring an interception (Jake Peterson) and one fumble recovery (Jake Powers).

But really, they were a bit sloppy. They fumbled, missed a shot at an onside kick, shanked a punt, looked confused on a couple handoffs. They racked up 65 yards of penalties to the Sabres' 10.

But the lead is 21, it's Homecoming and there are fireworks going on even as I type this. It is a gorgeous fall night.

I'll stop complaining now. :)
