Fox Valley Orthopedics Keeps It Moving at Cougars Game Friday

Move It To Music Gomez Ticket Giveaway Part of FVO’s 40-Week Anniversary Celebration

We all know that music inspires movement. This Friday, at the Kane County Cougars game, Fox Valley Orthopedics turns up the volume to inspire the community to keep it moving.  FVO continues its forty-week anniversary celebration with Move It To Music giveaways and tips to stay healthy at this Friday’s Radio Disney Night at the Kane County Cougars game, including four tickets to November’s Selena Gomez concert.

“We’re celebrating forty years of community support by saying thank you in forty ways that inspire motion,” says Dr. Kevan E. Ketterling, a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon at Fox Valley Orthopedics and team physician for the Cougars. “Ongoing support for our team plays a central role in our forty-week celebration.”

In its sixteenth week of saying thanks, ‘in motion’, FVO is proud to be getting behind the community’s youth by supporting local schools and teams. The list of organizations and events it has lent support to during its forty-week celebration includes the Casa Kane County Fox Valley Kids’ Marathon 2013, the YMCA’s STEPS Academy “FLASHBACKS!” Recital, the Bob Leonard 5K River Run/Walk, the Wasco American Legion Baseball League, the Campton United Soccer Club, and Tri-City Chargers Little League Football, and continued to support as team physicians for Geneva, St. Charles East, St. Charles North, Batavia, Larkin, Kaneland and Burlington Central high schools.

The forty weeks of anniversary celebrations also includes giveaways and challenges, inspirational patient stories, educational tips on how to ‘keep it moving,’ sports injury prevention advice, and other community initiatives – all designed to say thanks and inspire people to keep moving.

On Friday, at Cougars Stadium, to go along with the fastball festivities, physicians from Fox Valley Orthopedics will give away four tickets to Radio Disney Star’s Selena Gomez concert on Friday, November 22 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. Game goers who ‘high five’ Doc Fox, FVO’s mascot, or any member of the Move It To Music team – including ProForce and the Fox Valley Orthopedics staff – will receive a magical Move It To Music Card for a chance to win more prizes; it’s an opportunity for FVO to educate the community on the importance of moving to keep bones, joints, and muscles healthy.

“The Cougars are an big part of our forty-week celebration,” says Dr. Ketterling. “We’ve been the team physicians since the Cougars began, and we’re honored to partner with them to keep kids healthy.”

FVO believes that education is a key part of injury prevention, an integral part of a young athlete’s ability to keep it moving. The Cougars has baseball coaches from all over the community come in and partner with FVO to present workshops and seminars on youth injury prevention, including a roster of STOP Sports Injuries events.

“Other minor league players say they’re amazed by the number of fans the Kane County Cougars have,” says Dr. Ketterling. “Engaging the community has been an integral part of their success, and we are proud to serve as the team physicians. The Cougars have clearly become one of the models of class A minor league baseball in the United States. It makes you feel proud.”
