Web Design, Art and Activism Make Kevin Brouillette a Geneva Whiz

I think the biggest question remaining is "When does he find time to sleep?"

"You've got to meet this kid. He's amazing," said.

This was before Geneva Patch was launched, and I ran into the amazing and frenetic-fundraising at .

Finnberg, of course, is the man with the mission to . The kid he was talking about was Kevin Brouillette.

It occurs to me as I write this that, if I were a teenager, I might not want to be called either a whiz or a kid. But there's little doubt that Kevin qualifies for the honor.

Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Website design, poster design, community activist, art talent

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness:

I first met Kevin Bouillette at a to discuss the future of . That's good, first because it gives me a chance to plug the next  coming up on March 9 and, second, because it illustrates that Kevin is an extraordinary teenager.

Not a lot of high school juniors would take time out to visit City Hall for a couple hours to learn more about—and possibly help steer—their community's future.

But that little example is just the tip of the iceberg. Kevin's activism, good heart and talent run deep.

He's a website designer (he did the site), an artist (he placed in the ) and designs posters for the football and basketball teams (and proceeds benefit the ), the Powder Puff football game at Homecoming, the Homecoming logo—and bunches of other stuff I've heard about but can't remember in my old age.

He's on the prom planning committee, he's the junior class president, and he was actively involved in a successful petition effort, lobbying to move some Timbuktu lockers at the high school that were so far out there that some students couldn't get to class on time.

I'm sure I'm missing some accolades, but you get the picture. Good kid, smart kid, nice kid, talented kid.

Whiz Kid.
