Science Demonstration Trips Fire Alarm at Geneva Middle School North
The building is evacuated, but everyone is OK.
Geneva Middle School North students had a bit of a surprise Monday when a science demonstration apparently went a bit awry.
According to an e-blast sent by school administrators at around 9:58 a.m. Monday, fire alarms were triggered and emergency drill procedures were put in place at an unspecified tim in the morning.
Students and staff were evacuated from the building, and the Geneva Fire Department responded to the alarm.
"It was determined that a science demonstration triggered a smoke detector," the 304Connects email said. "We want to assure all parents and community members that no students were harmed in this event and there was no damage to the building."
