School District 304 Sets 2014-15 School Calendar

If you get a calendar for Christmas this year and you have kids in Geneva schools, School District 304 has a few dates you might want to mark down.

The first day of school is set for Aug. 20, 2014, and barring any snow days; the last day will be May 28, 2015.

As it is with the 2013-14 school calendar, students get a week off during Thanksgiving. That will be Monday, Nov. 24, through Friday, Nov. 28, 2014. 

Students get two weeks off during the holidays and New Years. This year, it's from Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, to Friday, Jan. 3, 2014. Next year, it will be the same deal (Dec. 22, 2014, to Jan. 2, 2015).

• Labor Day - Sept. 1 (Also a teacher's institute day Friday, Aug. 29, 2014)
• Columbus Day - Oct. 13 (With a half day the Friday before)
• Thanksgiving Day - Nov. 27
• Christmas Day - Dec. 25
• New Year's Day - Jan. 1
• M.L. King's Birthday - Jan. 19
• Presidents' Day - Feb. 16
• Memorial Day - May 25
