New District 304 Website 'Naviance' Will Help Students With Colleges, Courses and Careers

Finding a college, curriculum and career is about as important as it gets. Now Naviance can help.

Geneva School District 304 has a new way for parents to get a handle on some of the most important decisions of a person's life—where to go to school, what to study and what career path to follow.

The Counseling and Advising Department at School District 304 is introducing Naviance, a comprehensive website parents and students can use in making decisions about courses, colleges and careers.

Naviance will be used in the counseling and advising office next school year to track and analyze data about college and career plans, in order to provide up-to-date information specific to Geneva schools.

District 304 says to parents that Naviance will allow you and your student to:

  • Get involved in the college planning and advising process—Manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers, build a resume and find complete on-line surveys.

  • Research colleges—Compare your student’s GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from our school for students who have applied and been admitted in the past to a specific college or university.

  • Sign up for college visits—Find out which colleges are visiting our school and sign up to attend those sessions.

Naviance also lets advisors share information with parents and students about upcoming meetings and events, local scholarship opportunities and other web resources for college and career information. In addition, the site will allow for electronic communication between students and school counselors.

Students will receive their Naviance log-in information when final course schedules are picked up during the week of Aug. 15. Parents will be able to sign up for access beginning with Back-to-School Night on Sept. 7.
