Seats are still available for the Saturday seminar at Geneva Middle School South sponsored by Geneva School District 304.

Honestly, how many of us wouldn't want to know “The 10 Most Common Mistakes Good Parents Make”?

Well, we've got a chance to do just that, and for free, no less.

Geneva School Distric 304 is hosting the seminar, which featurs a keynote speech by Dr. Michael Maniacci, and breakout sessions on a variety of topics.

The School District received a grant for this presentation, titled, "Mind, Body, Spirit: A Free Parent University." The grant comes from the Kane County Health Department's "Fit for Kids" program.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Michael Maniacci, PSY.D.

Summary: Keynote speaker, Dr. Maniacci along with other experts will present a variety of health and wellness topics promoting positive parenting strategies to ensure your child succeeds to their potential.

8:30-9 a.m.—Registration

9-10 a.m.— Keynote, Dr. Maniacci

10:15-11—Breakout Session One

  • The Necessity of Encouragement
  • Anxiety in Elementary School
  • Bullying and Relational Aggression
  • Healthy Eating and Energy Drinks


11:15-noon—Breakout Session Two

  • The Twice Exceptional Child
  • Anxiety in Middle/High School
  • Parenting a Child With Autism
  • Car Safety—Birth Through Age 16

Cost: Free, there is no charge for this event.
