Homecoming 2011: Kevin Higgins, Stephanie Soeldner Are King and Queen
The 2011 Homecoming court is presented and will preside in the parade this afternoon and the football game tonight!
I've never really understood the fascination of the British royalty. In fact, with my fading memory, I had to Google to call up the names of Prince William and Kate Middleton, who I discover are NOT HAVING TWINS, despite what the tabloids said. (The good news is, by mentioning their names, Geneva Patch will set another record for UV numbers ... but I digress.)
What I do find fascinating—or at least totally American—is the celebration of Geneva High School 2011 Homecoming royalty.
It was fun at to hear the cheers and see the kids' faces as their names were announced. The picture-taking paparazzi (link to Lady Gaga—more UVs) were parents in this case, and they took so many flash shots and videos that one of the smiling royalty was heard to say, "Hurry up, my cheeks hurt!"

All of which is comic preamble to the serious business of announcing this year's Homecoming court. Congratulations to ...
