High School Game of the Week, Gently Used Clothing Sale, National Hot Cider Day and More—5 Things You Should Know for Friday, Sept. 30

And, swap out unwanted Halloween costumes tomorrow.

Here are four things going on in Geneva today, Friday, Sept. 29, and one to check out tomorrow:

1. The PTO will host its  from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The sale will feature gently-used fall and winter clothing. Items with white tags will be half price on Saturday.

No strollers or children under 10 are permitted at the Friday sale. For more information, call 630-463-3500.

2. The  will be , 7:30 p.m. at Geneva Community High School. The game will be re-broadcast at noon Saturday, Oct. 1, and 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, on CN100, The ComcastNetwork.

3. Today is the  on Oct. 6. This screening is optional and is not a requirement for enrolling in preschool. But it does assess vision and hearing, speech and language, cognitive and motor, and social and emotional development.

4. A  starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at the  during in Geneva. If you don't find a costume and yours has been swapped out, the store will offer a coupon for a purchase at Peaceful Parlour. Costume donations are greatly appreciated and all remaining costumes after the sale will be donated to Mutual Ground, a domestic violence shelter in Aurora.

5. Fun Fact: National Mulled Cider Day is a great way to toast the autumn season. This food holiday takes place every Sept. 30, just in time to enjoy the spicy brisk feeling of the fall air.
