Here's How to Make a Donation to GHS Post Prom

Post Prom is a healthy and safe way for students to celebrate after the prom—and it's open to all student. The event relies completely on donations, so here's how you can do it.

The Geneva High School Post Prom event is quickly approaching!

On April 30, after prom at the Museum of Science and Industry, Geneva parents will be hosting a post-prom party back at the high school. Organizers have found this party to be a terrific way to keep young adults safe and well-supervised in a drug- and alcohol-free environment.

The students enjoy a memorable night of games, food, and great prizes. Post-prom attendance is increasing every year, and organizers anticipate an even larger crowd this year. The evening is available to all  juniors and seniors, whether or not they attend the actual prom.

The party is funded by the parents and from contributions from members of our community, as well as a small percentage from each prom ticket sold. The activities for the evening include giant inflatable games, bingo, casino games, music, food, ping pong, caricature sketches, a photo booth and raffle prizes.

One of the main draws for the students is the opportunity to win fabulous prizes. Organizers are seeking community support at this time in the form of a cash donation/gift donation/gift card donation. If you have a new gift at home, please feel free to “regift” it. Other gift ideas include:

  • Gift cards for gas, fast food restaurants, clothing stores, music stores, shoe stores, pedicures, Target, Wal-Mart, coffee shops, sporting goods store.
  • Tickets for a concert, sporting event, movies, plays/musicals
  • DVD’s or CD’s
  • Any sporting good items
  • Electronics (one group got together and donated an iPad 2!!)
  • Of course, cash is always welcome.

Please consider investing in this worthwhile cause. If you have a junior or senior at GHS, please encourage them to attend post prom.

Parents or others also can donate online through Revtrak. You can get there by going to the Geneva High School website, then to "Parent Information," then to "Revtrak (pay school/lunch fees)". Then on the left, you'll see "Geneva High School Post Prom 2011." Click on that. (Editor's note: It's easier than I make it sound.)
