Harrison Student Council Kids Enjoy Leadership Breakfast

Students from Harrison Street School attend the Leadership Breakfast at Geneva High School.

Five members of the Harrison Street School student council attended a leadership breakfast Wednesday at Geneva Community High School.

All are fifth-graders, and all had a good time.

They had a wonderful breakfast, met community dignitaries and heard brief speeches from School Board President Mary Stith and School District 304 Superintendent Kent Mutchler and saw a $52,400-plus check presentation from Geneva Academic Foundation Project Search leader Mary Bencini to the School District. GAF funds projects and equipment purchases that the district might otherwise not be able to afford.

What did the kids learn from the event?

"I learned that, if everybody in the district and town work together, we can create a really good education system," said Harrison Street School student council president Fionnuala Cottrell.
