GHS Celebrates February Students of the Month from the Senior Class

GHS names its Students of the Month for February. An award is earned by a student who stands apart, succeeds despite circumstances, or contributes in some special way to the school. Here are the seniors.

Geneva High School celebrates education and student achievement by nominating students of the month. The following are some of Geneva's achievers, this group from the senior class. We published the freshmen, sophomore and junior winners earlier today in the story thread linked here.

Vanessa Coffland, Grade 12
Nominated by Mrs. Grissinger

It is my pleasure to write this recommendation on behalf of Vanessa Coffland for “student of the month." I have had the pleasure of having Vanessa in my Studio I Art and Ceramics classes. She has been one of the most genuine, honest and respectful students. She always has a smile on her face and brightens up the room with her enthusiasm every day. She has a creative, sensitive and energetic perception to art, and I believe she will achieve whatever she sets out to accomplish because of her eagerness to learn and willingness to work hard.  Vanessa is focused in her artistic endeavors and always puts 110 percent effort into whatever she does. Her work shows great potential and creative talent. Vanessa’s artistic talents are augmented by her fine character, great sense of humor and wonderful smile. Truly an outstanding person, I feel blessed to have Vanessa in my life.

Teresa Haines, Grade 12
Nominated by Ms. Jankovic

Teresa Haines has been selected for the FACS student of the month because she always displays a genuine sense of kindness to those around her. In her quiet and gentle ways, Teresa shows strong leadership skills by doing the right thing at the right time. She is dependable and responsible beyond her years. She takes the initiative and gets the job done, no matter what obstacles get in her way. She shows what it means to have grace under fire! It has been an honor to see Teresa grow and develop into a fine young woman. Teresa will have a successful future because she has a wonderful work ethic and a positive attitude. It is a blessing to have her as my student.
