Geneva School District Recognized for Financial Reporting

It's not easy to put together quality financial reports for a school district in a way that people can understand it, but Geneva 304's Donna Oberg does that in a tradition of excellence.

Geneva School District was recently awarded the Association of School Business OfficialsInternational’s Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting. This award is based on the submissionof a “high-quality” Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the 2009-10 fiscal year, according toASBO International.

The Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Program reviews the accounting practices andreporting procedures used by school districts and was designed by ASBO International to enable schoolbusiness officials to achieve a high standard of financial reporting. The award, the highest recognitionfor school district financial operations offered by ASBO, is only awarded to school systems that havemet or exceeded the standards of the program.

“We greatly appreciate the work done by Assistant Superintendent Donna Oberg and the comprehensiveaudit work of Klein, Hall & Associates that lead to this recognition for District 304,” saidSuperintendent Dr. Kent Mutchler.
