Geneva Girls Golf Team Takes 6th in Conference Tournament; Regional Next

The team also took first on Saturday at the Mustang Golf Invite.

The Geneva Vikings varsity girls golf team took sixth place Monday at the Upsate Eight Conference tournament at St. Andrews in West Chicago.

The Lady Vikings were led by Megan Kelly's 92. Elise Anderson shot 94, Nicole Hassels 96 and Megan Rush 98 for a team total 380. Geneva's Katie Kelly shot 101 and Mary Clare Novak 102.

St. Charles North took the team title with a 337 score, paced by Ariana Furrie's 73. Waubonsie Valley was second, Matea Valley was third, Neuqua Valley fourth.

Furrie took the individual title after a playoff against Neuqua Valley freshman Jessica Yuen after the two scored matching 73s on the par-71 track.

Geneva had been peaking at the right time after taking first place Saturday at the Mustang Golf Invite.

The regional is set for Wednesday in Algonquin.
