Social Networking: Communication in 2011

Have you ever wanted to see the pictures that your children and grandchildren have posted on Facebook but didn’t want to open an account? Are you trying to keep up with your children and grandchildren in this rapidly changing world of technology? If your answer is yes, then join us at the Geneva History Center on Tuesday, April 12. at noon for the Brown Bag program,“Social Networking”. Geneva Public Library librarians Peggy Carlson and Jamie Weaver will expand on newer ways that people are communicating in 2011. Learn how easy it is to use Facebook, Skype and smart phones. Sounds complicated, but these librarians make it easy to understand!

This program is being offered in conjunction with the Geneva History Center communication exhibition In Other Words: A History of Communication in Geneva.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch.  Cookies and coffee are provided.  Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for Geneva History Center members and students.  The Geneva History Center is located at 113 South Third Street, in the heart of Geneva's downtown historic district.  For more information, call the Geneva History Center at 630-232-4951.
