Litracy Volunteer Tutor Training

If you want to help an adult read and speak English, you will want to attend Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley's free tutor training workshop. It will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 11, 13, 18 and 20 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at the St. Charles Public Library. Once you are trained you will meet with one adult for one hour each week at a time and public location that is convenient such as the Geneva Public Library.

You do not need to know a second language or have a background in education to be effective. Students say that the best tutors are good listeners and are patient.
