Coutrap's Greatest Hits: A Demolition-Derby Trip Down Memory Lane
The Coultrap building, circa 1923, fell in phases and had its share of controversy along the way.
Here's a look back at some of the photos during the demolition process, which began in early June and is still under way as of July 25, 2013.
The area is to be held by School District 304 until such time as it needs the space for expansion. A rededication ceremony of the Fourth Street administrative office building is expected to be held in the fall—possibly on the same day as the annual All-Sports Boosters Corn Boil on Aug. 21 or in late September.
At that ceremony, officials hope to open what they believe to be a time capsule that was found in the Coultrap building cornerstone.
The former Coultrap site is expected to house a memorial, as well.
