"We Challenge All 4th and 5th Grade Girls to … FEARLESSLY BE YOURSELF!" the program flyer suggests.

CHICK CHAT by HGNA’s focus in 2013 is on helping your fourth- or fifth-grade
daughter develop her true sense of self in this one-day, all-girl workshop that is different each year for each grade level.

The workshop is brought to Geneva by TriCity Family Services, Geneva Coalition for Youth, and Geneva CUSD 304.

Students will attend two small-group breakout sessions led by professional facilitators who will guide the girls through the exploration of tools designed to help them form stronger relationships, make healthy decisions, and delve into developing their own unique sense of self.

The Chick Chat by HGNA curriculum is aligned with the Illinois Social Emotional Learning Standards.

In addition to the two breakout sessions, the fun-filled, all-girls retreat includes a guided opening activity with a fun take-home, a relaxing yoga session taught by a certified yoga instructor, the Chick Chat Challenge (a high-energy, action-packed, team-building session), a healthy lunch and snacks to keep participants fueled for the day, a really fun T-shirt, and a take-home booklet encompassing all the tools and techniques learned throughout the day for reference and support to utilize throughout the year.
