All Friday After-School Activities Canceled for Geneva School District 304

Geneva's new parent-notification system kicked in this afternoon, as Geneva School District 304 announced the cancelation of all after-school activities Friday, Jan. 20.

"All after-school and evening activities for Friday, Jan. 20, have been canceled for Geneva School District 304," the automated phone call said at around 2:20 p.m. It also suggested that if you have any questions about individual schools, to call the school or visit the school website.

If you go to the School District website, you can select various schools or activities that would have been going on. Among them are the following:

The Following GHS Events/Activities are Cancelled for Today (1/20/12):

Girls basketball - Game at Waubonsie Valley cancelled.  No practice (all levels).

Boys basketball - Game at Elgin cancelled.  No practice for freshman and sophomore levels.  Varsity will practice at 3:30 pm.

Wrestling - Conference meet at Bartlett cancelled.  No practice, but a brief meeting will be held after school.

Cheerleading - Competition at Lake Park cancelled.  No practice.

Gymnastics - practice cancelled.

Dance Team - practice cancelled.

Fashion Design - cancelled.

Fitness Center - closed after school today.

9th Period TA Students - were not permitted to leave the school this afternoon.

Career Intern Students - were not permitted to attend their session this afternoon.

Please keep in mind these cancellations are for Friday (January 20, 2012) only.  

As of this communication all events for Saturday, Jan, 21, will take place as scheduled.
