All 6 Geneva Grade Schools, Local Celebs Participating in Wednesday's Walk to School Day

Mayor Kevin Burns, District 304 Superintendent Kent Mutchler and others ready to walk uphill both ways for International Walk to School Day.

All six of Geneva’s elementary schools will participate in on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

At , Students and staff are encouraged to are encouraged to meet at one of the six corners to walk to school as a group.

1. Corner of Westhaven Circle and HeartlandDrive (South side)
2. Corner of Westhaven Circle and HeartlandDrive (North side)
3. Border and bike path (South side)
4. Corner of Adamson and Abbey (North side)
5. Corner of Larrabee and Daniel’s Way (Kay Lovett Park)
6. Corner of Husking Peg and Eleanor (North side)

Heartland staff members and teachers will be at various locations walking with students to school. Geneva’s own Mayor Kevin Burns will be walking to school from the corner of Husking Peg and Eleanor (north side) location #6.

At location #5 (Larrabee and Daniel’s Way—Kaye Lovett Park) will be Dr. Kent Mutchler, superintendent of District 304 and Andy Barrett, director of curriculum for District 304.

Employees from will be walking with students from the corner of Westhaven Circle and Heartland Drive (south
side) locations #1 and also at #3 (Border and bike path).

If it is not safe for your student to walk to school, please drive them to
one of the six locations to walk to school with their friends.

All students must follow safety rules when walking to school. Please use the crossing guard in front of the school to cross Heartland Drive. Please only cross streets at designated corners and stay on paths and sidewalks.
