Update: 15 Geneva Students Honored in National Merit Scholarship Program

Victoria Cooley of Geneva High School and Jackson Michuda of IMSA have been named national merit semifinalists.

Fourteen Geneva High School seniors have earned recognition in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Victoria Cooley has been named a national merit semifinalist. About 1.5 million juniors entered the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2011 PSAT test, which served as an initial screening of program entrants. The nationwide pool of semifinalists, which represents less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. Victoria is now in the process of submitting a detailed scholarship application in the hopes of becoming a finalist.

Also, Jackson Michuda, a Geneva resident who attends the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora, is also a National Merit Semifinalist.
