Rosary High School Will Perform 'The Magic of Dr. Seuss' April 20-22

The Rosary High School Drama Club will present their spring play The Magic of Dr. Seuss, featuring The Lorax and Seussical, Jr.

Long before saving the Earth became a global concern, Dr. Seuss, speaking
through his character the Lorax, warned against mindless progress and the
danger it posed to the earth's natural beauty. This classic story is just as
important today as when it was originally published 40 years ago, and the
Rosary actors will bring it to life on stage.

Combining characters and plots from more than 15 Dr. Seuss stories, Seussical,
Jr. is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! The story centers
around Horton the Elephant, who finds himself faced with a double
challenge—not only must he protect his tiny friend Jojo (and all the invisible
Whos) from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned
egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton
faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz
never loses faith in him, the only one who recognizes "his kind and his
powerful heart." Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and
community are challenged and emerge triumphant, in a story that makes you laugh and cry.

Performances will be held in the McEnroe Auditorium at Rosary High School, 901
N. Edgelawn Dr., Aurora 60506, at 7 p.m. Friday, April 20; 2 p.m. Saturday, April
21, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22. General admission seating is $5
