The National Weather Service Chicago has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for Kane County, in effect from 7 p.m. Wednesday night and continuing to noon Thursday.

Dangerously cold temperatures combined with gusty winds of 25 mph to 30 mph will create a perfect storm of cold nearing 30 below by Thursday morning.

The wind chilll will get to -20 to -25 by Wednesday night and is predicted to be -22 to -28 by daybreak.

The gusty winds will create areas of blowing and drifting snow.

Remember — as if you haven't heard this broken record before — that frostbite can occur in minutes. If you must venture outdoors, wear a hat and gloves.
