Was That the President's Helicopter That Flew Over Sunday?

Some readers speculate that the Chinook helicopters they saw flying over Geneva Sunday afternoon might have contained the president.

A few alert Geneva readers contacted Geneva Patch on Sunday afternoon, saying they saw a helicopter accompanied by Chinook helicopters flying overhead and asked if President Obama might be in town.

The helicopter flew by sometime around 3 p.m. Sunday.

I called DuPage Airport, and the operator there said the helicopters did not land at DuPage Airport. The operator said he had received other phone calls asking similar questions.

The helicopter that hauls the president is called Marine One, which is what the Marine Corps calls any aircraft carrying the president. It's usually operated by the HMX-1 "Nighthawks" squadron, according to Wikipedia.

Patch sent an e-mail to the White House with a request for additional information.
