Ron Singer Will Seek Fifth Term as 4th Ward Alderman

After Tuesday night's City Council meeting, Ron Singer makes the announcement that he'll seek another term.

Geneva 4th Ward Alderman Ron Singer said Tuesday he'll take another run at representing Geneva's 4th Ward.

Singer will be going for a fifth term as ward representative.

"There's an issue that's on the horizon for senior citizen housing. When I first ran for office, that was part of my platform, and I want to make sure we continue moving in that direction," Singer said.

The longtime alderman says he still enjoys the elected office and helping his constituents.

"I love it," he said. " I feel very comfortable, and I've had great support from the administration, the staff and the other aldermen."

The next municipal election is in April 2013.

Geneva last week that he would seek a fourth term.

Two candidates have formally announced their intention of seeking the at the end of his term: Ace Hardware customer service rep and community activist  and Historic Preservation Commission member . Two other Genevans, owner Mike Olesen and former alderman Bill Barclay have said publicly they are considering a run for the 1st Ward position, as well.
