The city of Geneva passed a resolution Monday night proclaiming Oct. 21-27 as Red Ribbon Week in Geneva.
The annual event is sponsored by the Illinois Drug Education Alliance, State of Illinois, Community Intervention Team, Geneva Coalition for Youth, S.A.D.D., And M.A.D.D. are sponsoring the Red Ribbon campaign offering citizens the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to drug-free lifestyles and promotion of the healthy development of all citizens.
This year, the club doesn't have the personnel to decorate the downtown with red ribbons, so it is asking for assistance from schools and downtown merchants to help with the decorating.
